Today has been – what I totally dislike – hectic with doing too many things at the same time. It reminds me of Dostoyevski’s proverb: “Who hunts too many rabbits at the same time, will not catch a single one.”
One of the things on my plate is the preparation for eparture tomorrow to Bombay (Mumbai) to attend the India Leadership Forum organized by the Indian IT-association NASSCOM. I am really looking forward to it as Thomas Friedman, the author of “The World is Flat” will have a keynote speech and will put forward his update on how the world has changed, particularly with respect to offshoring and outsourcing. In that context, I was wondering what to answer when people ask me what I was doing. I guess I found the answer that brings it to the point: “I help making the world a flatter place.” Hope to be able to post some insights on how the conference is going here on my weblog.
I appreciate a lot the conversations which have started here with faithful readers contributing to my blog like Nina and Anju did. Thanks a lot for your participation.

The World has definately Flattened its arrived at my doorstep………..
My saga continues and I thought I’d share it with the only other reader on your blog, btw hi Nina :-)
I know that WEF in Davos was hot on India, but this India fever has travelled to my Kanton. Its Fasching here at the moment (an excuse for these staunch catholics to indulge in rampant sex :-) and I go and hibernate… driving around the VILLAGE I realised the decorations in the restaurants are with an indian theme, bollywood has struck this population of 7’000 where 3/4 have one foot in the grave.
My neighbour a farmer mentioned yesterday I look indian (I’m not too sure if its because I put on 6 kilos or he’s secretly following the bollywood movies on RTL) irony being that indians in India don’t believe me when I say I’m one of them and a farmer who has never stepped outside this Kanton has suddenly become an expert on the topic of Indian heritage.
I always have an urge to continue with my soul searching path and use yoga as a vehicle (especially after my indian trips) walked in late this evening to a class full of pale skinned Europeans in their wollen socks chanting Sanskrit, now I know why I never return….
Last but not least, a nerdy little boy with specs and a woollen hat turned up at my place yesterday, presented me with a bag to hand over to my daughter Alisha and then ran off. Alisha embarrassed (she’s only 11) pulled me to one side and said she’s been seeing him, but they don’t kiss they discuss computers????
She showed me what he wrote and he signed the card MY INDIAN BEAUTY……..

Oh Anju,
How interesting – your neighbour is culturing up! It is funny but yet positive, that a farmer would like to broaden his horizon, eastward and had chosen to spread his mental wings to India!
Why on earth do they have a themed Fasching in CH? That is new. Groovey huh? Is Bollywood “hot” in your Kanton?
How sweet of your daughter’s boyfriend to call her an Indian beauty! I guess the world is really flat for even 11 year olds “computer afficianados” … In a way, I am quite excited to see Camilla grow up and receive Valentine cards… I can then spread my pearls of “dating” wisdom.. (the few beads that I have that is…):-)
Nice meeting you!
Very Good, Nina, very good Anju, it is essential to protect the lovely little daughters early from the filth of this world and keep them as long as possible pure. Pure, pure, pure :-)
