Rene,
An interesting view of the NILF that you have presented :)
Though I couldn't be present, but following your post, does make me reflect upon certain crucial aspects of "Communication 2.0" as you rightly pointed out. The fundamental that (the agency which was handling the Social part for NILF) could not figure out was, that its about, creating a message and then letting the community make and break it.

I would really like to bring to your notice the NASSCOM EMERGE Community (blog.nasscom.in/emerge)(communities.nasscom.in). Avinash Raghava, has been driving this initiative, which boasts of "User generated content" and "Member driven discussions". I think if you really dwell into the EMERGE community, you would really find some really amazing "communication 2.0" examples.

Though I would still say that the EMERGE community has not really leveraged the Web 2.0 tools, but I think with your comments and some strategizing towards defining the Branding and Positioning for the NASSCOM activities, we can really be the catalysts in change :)

Cheers,

Rene, Thank you for the detailed blog posts and the feedback for NASSCOM Web 2.0 initiatives. I agree with you on some of the things..but not completely..)

The blog - Yes as NASSCOM we did invite bloggers to write on the site...but I don't think we controlled the messages...why would we..?. The bloggers wrote what they wanted to...probably some of the posts have been negative..and I think the objective was to get inputs from delegates what they liked, what they did not ..and how we can improve upon. Your post itself has given us lot of ideas on how we can improve upon.

The Twitter - I agree that we did not use this medium effectively and thank you for the input on the name..probably we would attempt to do a good job next time.

The EMERGE community - You are again wrong here. I don't think we control and monopolize the discussions. I don't think a community will work if we control the discussions...just go deep in the discussions probably you would get a better idea on the knowledge base created and how it has provided a platform for emerging companies, start-ups to partner and learn from each other. Apart from the software product companies we are also trying to get users from other industries. More on the site

Youtube channel - We do have a channel that we have created in the past two years and we would be doing the same this year. The videos would be posted very soon on the site. I hope you saw your video for the entertainment evening..Salaam Mumbai!

The last is a good feedback on moderations..i shall pass on the same to the team here.

We would take some tips on "Gonadalization" from Vishal and thanks again for your long post. Look forward to meeting you next year. Hope you can help on improve upon our Web 2.0 initiatives.

Regards,
Avinash
